At a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on 18 May 2023, United School International on The Pearl, Doha was officially opened by Mr Omar Al Nehma, Assistant Under Secretary for Private Education Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, along with H.E. Faisal Fahad Jassim Al Thani, Vice Chairman of United Development Company & Chairman of the Board of United School International, Mr Kevin McNeany, Chairman of Orbital Education & Vice Chairman of United School International, and Ms Razan Osman, Education Sector Lead in the Department of Business and Trade, British Embassy.
H.E. Faisal Bin Fahad Bin Jassim Al-Thani, Vice Chairman of United Development Company & Chairman of the Board of United School International, said:
“Opening United School International is a major milestone for United Development Company, and is part of its commitment to providing residents of the Pearl Island with a completely integrated living community. No doubt, the opening of this school would not have happened without the full support of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, for which we are extremely thankful.”
Mr Kevin McNeany, Chairman of Orbital Education& Vice Chairman of United School International, said:
“It gives me immense pleasure to celebrate the official opening of this remarkable school. We can proudly say that our partnership with United Development Corporation (UDC) has delivered a thriving community of students, families, teachers and leaders and we look forward to continuing to work together to inspire, empower and educate our students.”
Mr Al Nehma was presented with a gift by USI students Hashem Allababidi (Year 9) and Yasmine Bouzouita (Year 8), before being given a tour of the school by USI Principal, Ian Temple.
