On 29th February 2024, the USI community came together in spectacular fashion to celebrate the school's first ever International Day.

As a school with over 80 nationalities represented across its student body, our first ever International Day was an important milestone in celebrating our truly international community.

Organised by our wonderful Parent Society, and made possible by the huge number of parents who volunteered to run their countries' stands throughout the day, the event was a truly inspiring experience that educated and entertained in equal measure.

The day began with all students participating in a Parade of Nations around the sports pitch, in front of an audience of hundreds of enthusiastic parents. Displaying flags and spectacular costumes, the parade got the day off to a perfect start.

After the parade, it was time to move inside where parents had decorated their stands with an amazing selection of pictures, books, artefacts and delicious food from their home countries. Our year groups took it in turns throughout the day to visit the exhibition to sample the food on offer, and learn all about the different countries.

The day also included some wonderful performances organised by our parent community, as well as contributions from our talented students.

The day was a wonderful experience for all involved - students, staff and parents. Our school is lucky to have such an enthusiastic community of parents who are keen to involve themselves in school life and to help us create unforgettable experiences for our students. We are already looking forward to next year's International Day!
