I previously worked in the UK teaching the British Curriculum for four years before moving to Qatar; I gained experience as Second in English and had the opportunity to take on the role of Subject Leader in English whilst teaching in a British school in Doha. Throughout my teaching career I have taught KS3, GCSE, A Level English Language and IB Diploma that has provided me with a wealth of experience. I am looking forward to working at USI; the school environment, the community on The Pearl and the USI ethos and values that will be apparent throughout the school. The school's facilities and array of subjects on offer for students are exciting and I am looking forward to building a KS3 curriculum that will soon lead to IGCSE and A Level.

Developing a robust and engaging learning environment to enable students to gain the skills they need to start meaningful careers. Originally from Kent in the UK, I bring over two decades of language teaching experience to USI. I spent time in both France and Spain before embarking upon my teaching career, which has taken me from rural Oxfordshire in the UK to international education in Hong Kong. I am really looking forward to embracing a new culture in a new community. Working in a brand new, state of the art, well-equipped educational campus excites me greatly. Being a founding member of the USI community is a unique opportunity. On a different note, I also cannot wait to try some Qatari cuisine!

Having started my career teaching in Sheffield, I moved to Doha in 2018 where I have been a Head of 6th Form and a teacher of all Sciences to IGCSE and Physics to A-level. My passion is for science pedagogy; I love designing and researching new ways to model scientific concepts to help students learn more about how things work. I cannot wait to see our students learning about the world around us in our state-of-the-art laboratories. We are privileged to have such an amazing space in which to learn and soon I want to see fire, bubbles and microscopes as our students get to grips with what it means to be a scientist!

Having grown up in East London, I’ve experienced teaching at multiple academies around London. I later spent 18 months teaching drama in Dubai to international students, which was an incredible experience that I really enjoyed. As a head of department at my most recent school, I value the skills that drama can teach very highly, and will continue to promote this at USI. I’m very excited to join USI as a founding teacher, as it will give me the opportunity to build the foundations of the drama department together with our new students. I also look forward to exploring the Qatari culture and understanding how drama can promote the key values that exist within Qatar. Travelling from London, I’m also very excited to see the sun!

I went straight into teaching from university, starting as a peripatetic brass teacher for North Lincolnshire Music Support Service. I left this position to become a professional musician which provided great opportunities to tour all over the world. My family and I settled in Hong Kong in 2013 to return to teaching and have been teaching at one of the largest international schools there since 2015. I am looking forward to helping to set up a new school and to develop a whole school curriculum, where continuous learning, through all key stages, can be developed. My family and I love to travel and the opportunity to move to such a vibrant, culturally historic place is something we are all excited about.

From the age of 18 I made the commitment to become a teacher and decided to further my studies in the reputable St Mary's University College, Belfast. After qualifying in 2011, I taught in the UK for four years. I was employed as a progress leader and Head of House during this time but then moved over to Subject Leader in 2015 to better develop my subject focus.

I have been working in Qatar since 2015 as a Head of Design and Technology. Over my career I have taught from ages 6 to 18 and covered KS2, KS3, GCSE, A-level and International Baccalaureate. I hope to develop the skills of our students focusing on engineering principals that will help form a foundation for critical thinking and problem solving.

I completed my MA in Education alongside my teaching commitments, with emphasis on GCSE Physical Education. For the last two years I have worked in Qatar as an acting Head of Department.

I am thoroughly excited to join the USI team and have felt extremely welcomed by my colleagues from the very beginning. I grew up in Northern Ireland. I started my career in Education as a Teaching Assistant, which sparked my interest in special educational needs. I have worked as an advisory teacher for children with Autism and a learning support teacher for children with a range of learning needs in mainstream schools. My passion is to provide opportunities for all students to realise their full potential, helping them overcome barriers to ensure they achieve. I am excited for starting something new, creating an inclusive, supportive nurturing learning environment. I graduated as a Master in Psychology in 2011 and started my professional career within international companies, where I was managing and supporting employees using my general and cross-cultural psychological skills.

After gaining experience in an international environment, I decided to follow my passion and started a work as a psychologist at a Primary and High School in Warsaw, Poland. In my daily work I combine my experience with knowledge about psychology and children's education.

However, before joining USI, I worked in an international school in Qatar for just over a year.
