Master’s in French Studies ( Literature, Civilization, Second Language Acquisition and Teacher Education) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

I have been teaching on an off since 2012 to students ranging from kindergarten up to university level, in both regular French and bilingual programmes, in France, the USA, China and Qatar. I love teaching and look forward to contributing to the further development of the “Francophonie” in Qatar. I am also always on the lookout for new opportunities to progress and learn in my field and feel very happy to collaborate with USI’s team in this regard.

Having grown up in East London, I’ve experienced teaching at multiple academies around London. I later spent 18 months teaching drama in Dubai to international students, which was an incredible experience that I really enjoyed. As a head of department at my most recent school, I value the skills that drama can teach very highly, and continue to promote this at USI. Working at USI gives me the opportunity to build the foundations of the drama department together with our students.

2023 marks my 30th year in teaching; 26 years teaching the UK British National Curriculum in EYFS, KS1, KS2 and more recently as a member of SLT. My last four years have been in Doha. It has been amazing to experience new languages and enjoy a different culture in the Middle East. My background in learning languages other than my mother tongue have given me great empathy and appreciation for other learners with EAL backgrounds. I am very adaptable to and enjoy working in different educational settings and am committed to helping all of the students I teach on their own personal journeys.
