At USI, it is important that we have the right means of communicating with our parents whether it is informing you of your child's academic progress, lateness or absence, event updates at the school or school announcements. We like to ensure that we can communicate in the most effective channel possible.

Informing us of Lateness or Absences

At USI, our expectation is that attendance will not fall below 95% in order for students to take full advantage of the educational opportunities available to them.

Requests for absence during term time should only be made if necessary and are not automatically authorised. Permission should be sought in writing from the Head of School or Executive Principal.

Daily absence or lateness should be reported to reception@unitedschool.qa (for Primary and Secondary), or eyfsreception@unitedschool.qa (for children in FS1 & FS2), who will then notify the appropriate Head of School.

Early Years and Primary School - Communicating with Teachers

If a parent wishes to contact their child's teacher with a specific question, or one related to your child’s progress, we request that you do this by email directly to the relevant teacher. Your teacher will email you with their contact details when your child first joins USI, but if you are unsure of the teacher's email address, the format is always the following:

first name.last name@unitedschool.qa - for example: simone.dean@unitedschool.qa

Wherever possible staff will try to reply to all queries within 24 hours during the working week.

For parents with children in Early Years and Primary School, we use Class Dojo as our online learning journal. This is a place where learning is documented and news and updates are communicated.

Class Dojo allows you to login with a secure username and password so you can view all your children’s observations, photographs and videos. You can like and comment on observations that we add for your child and it’s also possible for you to add your own observations. Your comments and own observations will allow us to find out about which activities your child really enjoyed and the learning they get up to at home.

You will receive an email from your child's class teacher with details about how to set up your Class Dojo account.

Secondary School - Communicating with Teachers

If a parent wishes to contact a teacher with a subject specific question, or one related to your child’s progress, we request that you do this by email directly to the relevant teacher.

For all pastoral or general enquiries, in the first instance, please contact your child’s form tutor.

In each case, staff emails are always in this format:
first name.last name@unitedschool.qa - for example: chantelle.thomasson@unitedschool.qa

Wherever possible staff will try to reply to all queries within 24 hours during the working week.

In the event that a student wishes to contact a teacher to ask a question related to their work, this should be done through the chat function in Microsoft Teams. This area is exclusively for teacher and student communication. We request for parents to use email as mentioned above.

Concerns & Complaints Procedure

As an outstanding school, it is critical that we deliver quality teaching in a safe environment for our students. However, if there is anything that hasn't met your expectations - please refer to our Concerns and Complaints Policy  on our website to raise any issues with the school.
